The reciprocation can also enforce uninvited debts. even French anthropologist Marcel Mauss describes, “There is an obligation to give, an obligation to receive, and an obligation to repay.” This rule exploits our ability to choose who we wish to be indebted to and puts that power in the hands of others. This can be a gift so unwanted that it is trashed at the first opportunity. These uninvited gifts can produce feelings of obligation.
