Basic Rules to Branding and Marketing: What is Necessary

Marc Barrett gave a great call on why the successful leaders are dead on when it comes to branding and marketing.

He shared that he has seen way too many people come and use a system just to get leads real fast and don’t spend anytime working to brand themselves.

Go take a look at the leaders and where they get their traffic on Alexa.com. You can see their demographics and how they are so successful. Like David Wood is WorkWithDavidWood.com, you can see his traffic and demographics is those in their 20’s. He attracts those that want to go be a beach bum and live that lifestyle. Take a look at Rob Fore at RobFore.com, he attracts those like him in his 50’s or 60’s. Then look at MarcBarrett at MarcBarrett.com and he attracts those in their 60’s as well. It doesn’t matter what success or experience you have in the industry. Be who you are and attract those that are like you.

Marc suggest that the fastest way to branding and marketing is to create a video. Don’t worry with getting it perfect, just be who you are. You can even use a cheap webcam. Marc shares that he uses a web cam that cost him only $38. Yet, when I first got started, I found one on Amazon and with shipping too that only cost me $5.00!

Some quick tips on creating videos for branding and marketing:

1. Make sure you have good lighting. People will not be able to relate to you if they can not see you. Have light behind the camera or beside you. A window or light behind you can create strange shadows.

2. Don’t have a distracting background. Large rooms are not ideal. Watch the news stations and observe their background. They may have a plant in the background. Keep it plain and simple. Bookshelves also work great. I think when I began it was either a blank wall or a sheet behind me.

3. If you are not comfortable in front of a camera, there are several things you can do to help you. There are sample videos and scripts in MLSP (MyLeadSystemPro) to help you with your first video to brand yourself. Write that down and put it in your own language. Your own transcription. If you can not ad lib or speak with out a script, simple copy it down and put it right in front of the camera.

How to be successful in branding and marketing

Don’t worry about getting it perfect. Just be yourself and people will know to relate to you. Use these simple ideas to brand yourself everyday in order to put your business forward.
